Tuesday, September 2nd

6:00pm - 7:30pm, Townhall Meeting with Chief Monroe at Independence High School hosted by the Hickory Grove Police Precinct.

 7:30pm - Citizens Forum with City Council at the City Hall Bldg. Address is 600 E. 4th Street. Charlotte East leaders speaking need your presence and support while addressing the section 8 subsidized housing and the mobile food vendor issue in our area. As many residence as possible needed to show a strong unity in Charlotte East.

Tuesday, September 9th

6:30pm - 8:00pm - Charlotte East Community Partners monthly meeting being held at the Citiside Community Clubhouse. Our normal meeting date is the third Tuesday of each month.  The meeting date is being changed for this month due to the townhall meeting with Police Chief Monroe for the Eastway and N. Tryon Divisions. All business owners and government officials or candidates welcomed to attend our monthly meeting. The Citiside Community is behind the Bi-Lo shopping center located at the corner of The Plaza Road and Eastway Drive. It is a beautiful mix use community.

Deadline Date for submitting RSVP for Charlotte East Black Tie Gala scheduled for Saturday, October 11, 2008. Theme is "Children of Our Community".  Make checks payable to "Charlotte East Community Partners" and mail to 6911 Lakeside Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215. Attention Shelin Wilder (Gala Chairwoman). Contact number for Shelin is 704-563-1289. Tickets are $30 each. Sponsorship costs are attached to this email. Organization that will be a benefactor of this year's fundraiser is Alexander Youth Network (www.alexanderyouthnetwork.org) which is headquartered in Charlotte East off Monroe Road. Event is to help with the work CECP does in the Charlotte East neighborhoods in addition to supporting a very worthy cause in the protection of the children in our communities. Help us to top the 220 guests we had for last year's gala to celebrate Charlotte East.

 

Tuesday, September 16th

6:00pm - Police Chief Rodney Monroe townhall meeting with the Eastway and N. Tryon Divisions. If you don't make it to the Hickory Grove townhall meeting on September 2nd, you can attend this meeting to hear his plans for our area and ask questions.

Thursday, October 9th

5:00pm - Taste of the World. This great festive occasion showcases the many outstanding international restaurants that we have in Charlotte East. We have 300 - 400 people from across the city to participate in this event. Please go to www.charlotteeast.com for more information and ticket prices.

Saturday, October 11th

6:00pm - 9:00pm - 2nd Annual Chrlotte East Black Tie Gala at the Charlotte Museum of History, 3500 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215. Number to museum is 704-568-1774. Website is www.charlottemuseum.org.
 

 

Neighborhood leaders throughout Charlotte East, please submit the date, time and location of your monthly neighborhood meetings to me. The Charlotte East Community Partners, Inc is focused to increase our partnership and support of neighborhoods throughout our area. There will be an improvement in the monthly newsletter covering events and meetings that need to be submitted by the 25th of each month. Example: For meetings and events scheduled for the month of October, submit information to me by September 25th for the October newsletter.
